Feecha is quite possibly the most adorable geo-microblogging app to date that has been made. With it, users can post anything under the sun or above and pin it to a specific location. Think FourSquare but just with that extra pinch of coolness.

Introduction to Feecha

A feecha other than being the cutest ever eyeball, is referred to as an interesting thing on a map. There is no one definition for “interesting”, it could be something hilarious, trivial or one that gets you going omg. The list is endless, you make the call. Group a couple of those together and you get a creecha, also a great way to finding stuff centered around a location.

Seriously, I can’t get enough of the ending syllable which goes “cha” and it is getting addictive!

How to use Feecha?

Say you saw something interesting and would like to share it with your friends and followers, take a photo or video and then post it up using the app. It is not very different from how you are used to sharing media with Twitter or Facebook.

I was having a Korean BBQ dinner (sinful I know!) the other day at coincidentally Korean BBQ. Forget Seoul Garden! This was probably the best value and tastier choice, not to mention that they had countless discounts that I just had to feecha it.

Feecha and comments

Or if you are at Chomp Chomp and do not know which stall sells the best BBQed chicken wings, why not launch the app and post a feecha? Before too long, you are almost certain to get some possible suggestions from the many friendly users around.

Tag your feecha to interestsThere are tags called interests and you can choose which you want to follow. When a feecha tagged with that particular interest is posted, you will be notified. For e.g. if you are following the ‘sale’ tag, you will never miss another feecha tagged with it ever.

It might seem like a bit of a chore at first, but tagging your feechas will not only make it easily searchable but also tell the other users who are following the specific interest about it. For now, the default ones should be more than enough but feel free to go even more specific. After all, more interests can only help your feechas become easily searchable.

Feecha is very alike Twitter in some ways. You can share another user’s feecha when you refeech it (a.k.a. retweet on Twitter) and mention others by including the @ symbol just in front of their usernames. Now, Feecha doesn’t seem all that foreign now after all, does it?

How Feecha differs from other platforms?

Feechas on the mapMany apps these days are tapping onto the location services of today’s modern smartphones but what really sets Feecha apart from its competitors is the interaction between its users.

They can find out what’s happening at a certain place easily without much hassle and interact with the people in it, there is no need to actually have a friendship request being accepted.

People are brought together by their location proximity and interests – something not seen before in the popular apps like Facebook and FourSquare. One user can only see another user’s check ins (in this case) if they are friends.

I could get a notification of a feecha posted by a complete stranger which was posted just 1.08km away from my current location. In this respect, it has thrown privacy completely out the window.
